The District Sales representative is responsible for supporting the continued growth of Multiquip Construction Products through increased sales to our Independent customers, by promoting Multiquip products such as; concrete and mortar mixers, power trowels, screeds, concrete vibrators, soil and asphalt compaction equipment, pumps, water trailers, generators, light towers, welders, and other related products by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Sells the MQ Package – Company, Individual, Product, Sales Support, Service Support, and Technical Support & Parts.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, internet web sites, and other sources.
  • Works with key established accounts to strengthen the Multiquip business relationship to ensure the continued growth of Multiquip’s market share within their commercial offering either in the resale or rental arenas.
  • Trains & educates Multiquip customers and end users on the company’s equipment and its use and applications. Demonstrates an understanding of the full product line and how it can add to the customer’s product portfolio.
  • Becomes familiar with all construction activities and major contractors in assigned territory.
  • Participates in all active negotiations with customers within their assigned territory.
  • Develops a working knowledge of the competition and their ongoing sales strategies.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Provides customer with estimated date of delivery based on knowledge of Multiquip Inc.’s production and delivery schedules; assists with the delivery of field stock when necessary.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts. Enters complete and accurate sales orders for all products sold.
  • Provides correct customer data and other sales data for current and prospective customers for entry into the Multiquip CRM system.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with all key contacts at each customer location.
  • Investigates and resolves all customer problems.
  • Responsible for maintenance of company vehicle and consigned equipment issued. Responsible for promptly updating consignment reports using the company’s intranet website.
  • Responsible for using good judgment when entertaining customers, completing expense accounts and timely submission of expense verification / reports.
  • Attends trade shows and assists with the set-up and removal of displays.
  • Performs other duties as they may be assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent industry experience.
  • 2 - 3 years of sales experience in a B2B industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with groups of customers and/or company employees.

Computer Skills:
Must possess a working knowledge of computers and business software such as Microsoft Office for communication and analysis of information.
Required Travel:
50% travel is expected in this position.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary of $50,000 a year + Commission
